Archive of the Odd 2024 Sales Drive is LIVE!

A scrapbook style graphic reading "Archive of the Odd IndieGoGo." Images of book bundles are labled "discount book bundles," an advertisement showing the title "Performance of a Lifetime" is labeled "chapbooks," an image of a keychain and sticker (described in an image below) are labeled "merch," and an Archive of the Odd logo with a question mark is labeled "mysterious preorders."
Did we forget anything?

The day was May 15, and in the extraplanar space that both shelters and encroaches upon the Archives, two archivists went down their checklist with weary satisfaction. Financial breakdown? Check. Art? Check. Descriptions? Check. All verification, setting toggling, and button pushing complete? Check. In rapid-fire, social media is updated, drum beating begins, and the archivists bask.
The day is May 16, and one tendril of the mycelial network goes, “I think we forgot the website.”

Anyways, hello! We absolutely did forget to update our very own website about our exciting new sales drive, complete with preorders, merch, and discounts! So, without further ado, what are we doing, why are we doing it, and what are we offering?

In short, we are a token paying publication. We are sustainable at 1c/word for fiction and $30/page for art, and we’re glad to be floating along without having to dip into our (extremely shallow) pockets. But as glad as we are to be able to pay that much, we’d like to be able to offer more to our creators. At 3c/word and $40/page for art, we would be comfortably semipro. If we can do that for four issues, that gives us enough runway to work on creating infrastructure that will make us sustainable at higher rates. But first we, we have to get there. How to do that? A sales drive!

Check out the Archive of the Odd 2024 Sales Drive!

The sales drive works like standard preordering/bundle ordering, but now with discounts AND exclusive merch like stickers. Royalties will still be paid out to all creators (as detailed in our financial breakdown), you’ll still get the same amazing stories, but now with a coordinated push to raise our rates. While we’re running this drive through IndieGoGo, purchasing through the store also helps our goal.

We’ll be updating throughout the campaign (yes, even updating our own website with any hope) with new goals being met, new designs, and new directions our mycelial network have branched into.

Thank you for your interest in the Archives, thank you for your support, and more than anything, thank you for being with us. We hope to continue bringing you the strangest fiction we can for a long time coming.
